Hulu? Is this thing on?

Those of you like me have been trying to find various clips on the YouTubes recently, only to find that NBC-Universal has had them all removed (and stricken from the search record, no less). I suppose that’s within their right as, you know, copyright holders and all, but still pretty lame unless you really like clicking through NBC.com. At any rate, NBC has been teaming with some other major players like FOX, Sony, WB, MGM, and others to make their very own little video site. How cute. Anyway, Hulu launched this week, with select full episodes of select shows. (Sweet, now I can watch Episode 8 of Chuck – the one week I missed…what, it’s not on there? Shit. But I can watch clips from 40 Year Old Virgin? Well, okay.)

Pride of the Yankees

No joke here, just a real cool story – Billy Crystal, he of the blockbusters, the directing, and the eight-time-Oscar-hosting, finally lived the dream he’s been pursuing his entire life. Career line (well, in Spring Training, but still): 1 AB, .000, 1 K. Not exactly the brilliant line some lucky saps manage in their one shot at glory.

After the game, Crystal was asked what was next for him – perhaps a trip on the space shuttle? His response (I shit you not): “Governor of New York. It’s open.” Bless you, City Slicker. Bless your heart.

The First of What We Can Only Assume Will Be Many, Many D.C. United Posts

So, I’m sitting here, waiting to hit up Bar Review, which is right up the road here in Adams Morgan, and I’m thinking to myself, “Self, you should throw some comments and links out there about DCU; you are, after all, obsessed.” Which is a very good point. I can get a little crazy about sports, and United is one of my big teams. I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out the other ones in due course.

At any rate, the Black-and-Red kicked off their 2008 campaign last night down in Kingston, Jamaica against a team you’ve never heard of called Harbour View FC. Yeah, that’s a U. At any rate, D.C. came out with a somewhat disappointing 1-1 draw, and they’ll play the second leg of the aggregate goals series Tuesday night at the District’s very own Concrete Spaceship.

At any rate, I’ll leave you to D over at the DCenters for most of the run-down, but I’ve got a couple impressions of my own – they’re after the jump.
